Shalimaar

The heritage of traditional elegance

“Shalimaar”, a collection designed for Portico, a leading Indian Bed & Bath brand.

A contemporary mixture of timeless classics, Shalimaar is a range of alluring traditional motifs or butis with a touch of modernism that one needs to create a cozy space. This range is an example of the luxury arts created in abundance for the court of the Mughal emperors with the floral style which emerged in the seventeenth and eighteenth century. Shalimaar brings in the essence of olden textiles with inspirational patterns and hand block prints. Richly colored motifs with Indian hues enhance your home and bring in the spirit of the rich Indian heritage in a classic but modern way.

Modern Nature is a collection of prints for wallpaper and furnishings. Based on the concept of “Biophilia” that states that humans possess an innate tendency to seek connections with nature and other forms of life. Inspired from the landscapes of Savannah, these prints embrace the ever growing forms of nature surrounding us.

A celebration of memories, traditions and culture

Utsav is a collection of lifestyle products that aims to create a sensory experience of Indian culture and festivals inspired from my own memories of family, festivals, celebration, and the emotions of togetherness and belonging, explored through the craft of needle punching, and material exploration in combination with digital print and patterns. The designs are a contemporary twist on the different shades of the Marigold flower used for decoration across various Indian cultures. Focusing on tactility and color palettes, visual cues are taken from rangolis, torans and garlands made from these flowers during festivals, weddings, and other auspicious occasions in India.

Summer Love

A little bit of summer is what this year is about

Summer 2020 has been uncertain for us all but also a refreshing change.

I woke up in the morning and opened the windows. A fresh breeze swept past me, almost like the meadows calling out to me.
 The sun shone bright and I got ready for the usual stroll.
 As I strolled around, I hummed a sweet song.
 Looking around, I had a moment of introspection and I realized how simple and beautiful life really is.
 One just needs to take a moment and look at how the simple joys in life are the ones that really matter
